BOATING FATALITY Haviland Bay A resident of Haviland Bay was operating a small fishing boat about 500 yards offshore yesterday. A short time later, the boat was spotted but the operator was missing so neighbours notified police. The Sault O.P.P.

Sault O.P.P. officers responded to a number of alcohol related incidents since yesterday afternoon. Several young people in the Pancake Bay area were issued 12-hour licence suspensions as a result of alcohol consumption.

Yesterday at 7:15 a.m. officers investigated another car-deer collision on Havilland Shores Drive. There are little details at this time other than the deer was killed.

BEAR-TRUCK COLLISION Laird Township Yesterday, at 11:00 p.m., the Sault detachment of the O.P.P. investigated a collision on Highway 17 in Laird Township involving a tractor-trailer and a large black bear.

CAR-MOOSE COLLISSION Batchewana, Ontario Yesterday at 11:30 p.m., the Sault O.P.P. and the Batchewana Fire Department responded to another car-moose accident on Highway 17 in the Batchewana area north of Sault Ste. Marie.
