Military Family Support Group remembers Mayor Rowswell

SAULT STE. MARIE MILITARY FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP

**************************** On behalf of the SSM Military Family Support Group, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mayor John Rowswell.

As well our thoughts and prayers to all the council members and city staff who worked alongside Mayor Rowswell as he supported the local troops serving in Afghanistan.

Mayor Rowswell consistently gave moving speeches at Remembrance Day services, encouraged the community to put up yellow ribbons to show their support for our local troops, supported the emergency vehicles to "wear" the yellow ribbon, presented plaques to our reservists and civilians serving in Afghanistan, sent letters of appreciation to the regular force members who hailed from SSM and much much more.

The SSM military families and local troops are very appreciative of all that Mayor Rowswell did during his time as mayor of Sault Ste. Marie.

He will not be forgotten. We will remember.
