Condolences from Township of St. Joseph

TOWNSHIP OF ST. JOSEPH

************************* On behalf of the Township of St. Joseph, I would like to convey our condolences to the residents of Sault Ste. Marie and the family of late Mayor John Rowswell.

John’s family has a long history and connection to the Desbarats - St. Joseph Island area which he was very proud of.

His work on behalf of Sault Ste. Marie has not only benefited the people in that community but those of its neighbouring communities as well.

I would like to especially express the deepest sympathies of my community to John’s wife, children and grandchildren.

Political life is not easy for one’s family and there were most certainly times when John would have wished to have been able to spend more time at home.

However, like many municipal leaders, his work for his community would have grown out of his love and commitment to his family and his desire to ensure a future here for them as well as all residents of the Sault.
