************************* The Elders, Council and citizens of the Garden River First Nation join the many friends and colleagues in offering our deepest sympathies to the family of Mayor John Rowswell in his passing.

We had the honour and pleasure to know Mayor John and will miss his kind and generous nature, his willingness to share and his odd sense of humour.

We credit Mayor John for his vision and leadership in building and strengthening the relationship between the City and all Anishinabek people

From our relationship we had developed the utmost respect for the mayor.

To Mayor Rowswell and his family, we ask that the Great Spirit be with you during this difficult time and please accept our thoughts and prayers as he begins his journey to the spirit world.
