NEWS RELEASE

INDIAN FRIENDSHIP CENTRE

************************* Letter of condolences regarding the passing of Mayor John Rowswell

On behalf of the staff, board of directors and urban Aboriginal community members we work with, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mayor John Rowswell.

In our experience with John, he always indicated support in the programs, services and advocacy work done by the Indian Friendship Centre.

John was inclusive and believed in the power of creating a network of partnerships that allowed for best practice in serving the community he led and believed the Indian Friendship Centre was very much a part of that network.

Being a leader is a wonderful opportunity to affect change.

It can be rewarding and offers great opportunities to make a difference; a difference for the betterment of all.

It has been an honor to work with him and his office over the last number of years.

He will be missed by many.

Regards,

- Indian Friendship Centre staff, board of directors and community members of the IFC
