Soo Greyhounds Chris Lawrence and Jeff Carter are back in town, both sporting medals won in international competition over the holidays. Lawrence won a gold medal with Team Ontario at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in St. John's, Newfoundland.

The Sault Ste. Marie detachment of the OPP reports two overnight accidents involving wild thangs. On Highway 17 in Aweres Township a motor vehicle hit a deer. The deer died. At Alona Bay, also on Highway 17, a moose collided with a vehicle.
