Cops chase stolen vehicle - major damage ensues

************************* Pursuit in City of Sault Ste Marie results in numerous charges

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - On the 1st of December at 7:25 p.m. an OPP officer stopped a 2009 PT Cruiser on Great Northern Road.

The vehicle sped away from the police vehicle and travelled down Great Northern Road, down Second Line, Black Dirt Road and turned right on Trunk Road eventually ending up on Wellington Street at Elizabeth Street where the vehicle eventually pulled over when a Sault Ste Marie City Police vehicle became involved in the pursuit.

Numerous traffic violations occurred during the pursuit and the vehicle struck an Anishanebek Police vehicle causing extensive damage.

Two other non-police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit: a tractor trailer and a car.

OPP, City of Sault Ste Marie and Anishanebek Police services became involved in this pursuit.

The vehicle turned out to be reported stolen from Enterprise Rent a Car in Alberta in September.

The suspect received minor injuries from the three crashes but no other persons were injured.

Tracey Marie Brock, 43 from Legal Albert is charged with:

- Possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving, fail to stop for police with intent to evade, three counts of fail to remain at the scene of an accident contrary to the Criminal Code.

Brock will appear in bail court in Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday December 2.
