The Soo Greyhounds are back on top of the Ontario Hockey League’s West Division standings. The Greyhounds ended the 2007 portion of their season with a 3-1 victory over the Windsor Spitfires on Saturday night at the Steelback Centre.

The Soo North Stars received a goal from Nicholas Romano at 2:26 of overtime to defeat the North Bay Trappers 3-2. Michael Schug opened the scoring for the North Stars early in the first period.

It was a battle of two teams expected to finish in the medals at the 2008 World Junior Hockey Championships.

The Soo Greyhounds are off to a good start for the second half of the season. A two-goal performance from defenceman Andrew Campbell led the Greyhounds to a 4-1 victory over the Sudbury Wolves Friday night in the Nickel City.
