LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY

************************* Relief pitcher

Lake Superior State University student James Bailey (red shirt) from Ishpeming, Mich., shoots for an "A" grade during the ENGR101 introduction to engineering's semester project competition.

Eight freshman teams custom-designed and built pitching machines that were judged on ball speed, accuracy and distance, as well as device durability, transportability, aesthetics, safety and adjustability.

Looking on from Bailey's right are team members Ben Kurth from Cheboygan and Ted Dilworth (blue shirt) from Boyne City.
