Fisher-Wavy Concrete vs. Country Way

Due to the Christmas holiday, this game was forfeited.

North to Adventure – 3 vs. Ont. Concrete – 0

It was all North to Adventure in this scoring in each period to pick up the win, and give pick up goalie, Meredith Agliani the shut out. Goal scorers for North to Adventure were Debbie Desgagne, Debbie Johnston, and Kim Bauer. Picking up assists were Megan Holder, Trish Evans, Johnston and pick up player Lori Swan. Ont. Concrete gave it their best effort but just couldn’t get the puck passed Agliani.

Lafarge – 2 vs. Skip’s Kweok – 3

In this action packed game, it was Lafarge getting on the scoreboard first, when Nicole Beauchamp scored unassisted at 6:50 in the first period. About 4 minutes later, Skip’s came back with one of their own to tie things up at 1-1. Scoring for Skip’s was Julia Robertson, assisted by Pat Baldassarro. It was more of the same in the second period, when Beauchamp scored her second of the game to put Lafarge up 2-1 early in the period. At the end of the period, Skip’s once again were able to tie things up, when Baldassarro scored one of her own, assisted by Danielle Valcheff, and Jennifer Sears. In the third period, the teams batted back and forth until, Skip’s Valcheff netted one to give her team the win. Assisting on Valcheff’s goal was Mona Jones.

White Oak Paint – 3 vs. Algoma Insurance – 2

White Oak came out flying in the first period scoring all three of their goals, but Algoma took their turn in the second scoring both of theirs leaving the third period scoreless. White Oak’s goals were scored by Erin Smylie and Elaine Angelic (2). Rayanne Headrick and Shannon Irwin picked up the assists. Algoma’s goals were scored by pick up player, Lori Swan and Pam Booth. Theresa Glover made her return, picking up the lone assist.

BDO Dunwoody – 1 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 0

It was a duel of goaltenders, as both Mary Jane McCormick and pick up goalie, Teri Bonnell made out standing saves to keep things close in this one. The only goal in the game came in the second period, when BDO’s Cynthia Zalewski tipped the puck passed Bonnell to give her team the win. BDO still remains the only undefeated team in the league.

Easy Express – 0 vs. North to Adventure – 7

North to Adventure ran away with it in this one, with a combination of goal scoring and great goaltending. Easy Express, was determined and played a hard fought game but unfortunately, their efforts weren’t reflected on the scoreboard. North to Adventure’s goals were scored by Betty Buck (2), Debbie Johnston (2), Debbie Desgagne, Megan Holder and Trish Evans. Picking up assists were Karen Cosgrave (3), Desgagne (2), Buck (2), Kim Bauer, Jane Longo, and pick up player Patti Storozuk.

Sports Gold – 1 vs. Brookfield Power – 0

This was a game that focused on defense, as both teams didn’t let the opposing team get near the net. The only goal of the game came in the first period, when Sports Gold’s Chantal Anderson, scored unassisted. Teri Bonnell picked up the shut out for Sports Gold.

BIG LEAGUE

Seamless Cylinderellas – 5 vs. Misty’s Fifties – 7

Fans in attendance for this game were treated to a fast paced, tight scoring game, as both teams were relentless. Getting on the scoreboard first was, the Seamless Cylinderellas, when Sharon Buehner fired one passed Misty’s goalie, Deanna Boissoneau. Assisting on the goal were Melissa Holder and Marisa Pecile. About 5 minutes later, Buehner picked up her second of the game, to give her team a 2-0 lead early in the first period. Debbie Johnston and Robyn Bourck picked up assists. Misty’s kept attacking, when their efforts were rewarded late in the first period to cut Seamless’ lead to one. Scoring for Misty’s was Joanne Pine, unassisted. The action continued into the second period, as the teams traded goals with Seamless scoring twice and Misty’s scoring four times to give them the 5-4 lead going into the third period. The goal scorer for Seamless was Bourck (2), assisted by Johnston (2) and Buehner (2). The two teams continued battle in the third period, as Misty’s scored two unanswered goals early in the third to seal the win. Seamless scored with just seconds left in the game to keep things close. Misty’s goal scorers were Pine and pick up player, Mary Jane McCormick. Mallory McCormick picked up the only assist. Seamless’ final goal was scored by Buehner, her third of the game, giving her the hat trick, and was assisted by Holder.

Verdi Hall – 5 vs. Fewchuk-Palmer – 1

It was all Verdi Hall in this one, as the efforts of their pick up players was greatly felt. Goal scorers for Verdi, were Stephanie Emmi, Ellen MacDougall, Gayle McMullin, and pick up players, Robyn Bourck and Karen Rosebrook. Picking up assists were McMullin (3), Emmi, Rosebrook, and pick up player, Melissa Holder. Fewchuk-Palmer’s lone goal was scored by Brianne Greco mid-way through the second period, assisted by Sherri Maguire.
