ASSAULT Yesterday at 5pm, police responded to an assault on August Street, Batchawana First Nation (Rankin). An intoxicated woman walked into a neighbour’s residence and struck her in the face then departed prior to police arriving.

JEEP ROLLS ONCE Yesterday at 2:10 p.m., Gregory Carter of Sault Ste. Marie was involved in a one-vehicle collision on Whitman Dam Road. Carter swerved to avoid an animal and lost control of his jeep when his tires went through some deep water.

ACCIDENT SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL (Echo Bay, Ont) Yesterday morning at 10:27, a minivan being operated by 53-year-old Kong-Chan Pan of Toronto left Highway 17 in the Echo Bay area. Pan and two other residents of Toronto received minor injuries.

THEFT FROM GAS BAR Echo Bay, Ont. The Sault O.P.P. is investigating the theft of money from the Pit Stop Gas Bar in Echo Bay. At 5:15p.m. yesterday, a single young male entered the rear office and removed an envelope containing cash.

MILE HILL ACCIDENT Sault Ste. Marie At 8:00 yesterday evening a large moving truck lost control on a wet highway while northbound down the Mile Hill. Luckily, oncoming traffic avoided the truck, which flipped onto its side in the east ditch.
