Motocross racers locally as well as numerous racers from other parts of the province gathered at Runway Park over the weekend for two days of racing. Following are Saturday’s results while Sunday’s results will follow in a separate story.

The Northern Football Conference will be holding its championship game next Saturday evening Unfortunately for the Sault Steelers, they will be on the outside looking in after a 42-17 loss at the hands of the Oshawa Hawkeyes on Saturday night at Rock

The Sault Steelers are one win away from the Nothern Football Conference Championship game. Tonight the Steelers face the Oshawa Hawkeyes at Rocky DiPietro field in a 7 p.m. start.

On Wednesday August 2, 2006 the Runway Park Men’s Softball team topped off a 17 and 7 season with a 20 to 13 win over second place Systems Int. This victory secured a regular season championship for Runway Park.

Kinross Speedpark hosted races for week 13 at the Chippewa County Fairgrounds under blue skies and comfortable temperatures.

The weather may have been cool but the racing action was hot as Laird International Raceway heads into the final weeks of the season. The Late Model Division results tightened the points race between Michael Gold and Rick Leonard.
