BLIND RIVER -- The Soo Thunderbirds will now tackle the Black Bears after flying past the Beavers.

The Soo Thunderbirds guaranteed a spirited effort on Wednesday night and definitely made good on their promise.

The Goulais River Ball League is looking for the boys and girls of summer. New teams are being sought for the upcoming slo-pitch season with teams scheduled for two games per week. The appoximate cost for each team is $650 for the season.

The Soo Slo-Pitch Association is holding an information session for teams and individuals interested in playing slo-pitch at Strathclair Park this summer. Men’s, Coed, and Ladies divisions will again operate this summer.

The Blind River Beavers showed the Soo Thunderbirds that they weren't about to give up. The Thunderbirds guaranteed that a different team will show up to face the Beavers on Wednesday night.

The Soo Greyhounds officially concluded their regular season schedule on Sunday evening as they battled the London Knights, considered by most to be the top team in Canadian junior hockey.

When the season started, it was widely accepted by those who follow the Soo North Stars that the team was due for a let down after an outstanding 2003-04 campaign.
