The Soo North Stars will defend their Great North Midget League championship after completing a semi-final sweep of the Timmins Majors on Sunday night.

The Humber Hawks claimed the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's basketball championship on Saturday at Durham College.

The Soo Greyhounds continued their winning ways on Friday night in Sarnia.

The Soo Greyhounds coughed up a big lead but rebounded to score a huge win over the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night. After grabbing a 4-0 lead early in the second period, the Greyhounds watched the Spitfires rally to tie the game at 4-4.

Despite a third period rally, the Soo Thunderbirds fell short on Wednesday night and dropped back in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League western division standings.

The Soo North Stars are now one game away from advancing into the Great North Midget League championship series.
