After a 44 game opening day, 47 games took place on day two of the Steel City International Hockey Tournament. The second day of round robin action, Friday saw some important matchups as teams battle for semi-final berths.

The Soo North Stars are about as perfect as you can be after three games in the Steel City International tournament being held locally this weekend.

The Soo Greyhounds are proving that a consistent effort can go a long way, especially in winning hockey games.

Some 44 games filled the schedule as the 25th Annual Steel City International Hockey Tournament began in earnest on Thursday in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Soo Thunderbirds began the new year with a big road win over the Sudbury Junior Wolves in the Nickel City on Wednesday night.

Despite getting younger in recent weeks through trades, the Soo Greyhounds have shown they can still find a competitive balance despite losing some key veterans.
