It’s beyond the pale that councillors voted to reprimand a co-councillor. That action will go in the history books. Bruni, Scott and Spina did the right thing to send it back to the Commisioner.

Where was Mrs Blunt then.? I watched council then and that lambasting was not necessary.
Stand tall Mr. Kinach.

Mrs. Silvano - De-roster with empathy and in a humane way. De-roster the ones with no health issues first. Keep the ones with health issues, the elderly and pregnant ladies instead of throwing out everyone tied to a doctor that is leaving. An analogy to this strategy is when someone gives up their seat on a bus or subway to an elderly person, a person with mobility issues or a pregnant lady. But then this requires a bit more effort lol!!!

@Turd Furguson - Salaries, benefits and pensions are all relative. The president of the United States has a way higher responsibility leading a nation of 250 million and a world leader.
So he should have more in benefits. Local GHC, educational and city executives are not even close in responsibilities so their salaries, and benefits and pension should reflect their level of responsibilities. Before calling others obtuse give some thought before you express your opinions!

The American President’s Salary is $400,000 a year.
How has some of these local executive salaries allowed to close in to what the President makes.
The GHC executives in my opinion is too high. Restructuring needs to take place to lower their salaries and invest the savings to hire clerical workers to assist the overworked doctors.
Same goes for the educational and city executives. Restructure their salaries to hire more teachers and hire more city workers and more police.

Thanks Mike for the great work. I think there needs to be a restructuring at the GHC with a focus to get back to a grass roots organization.
GHC patients are part of the GHC and should remain so and not be thrown out when their primary providers leave the GHC. The GHC board needs to rethink how they de-roster.

The de-rostered GHC patients should get an income tax credit of some sort to at the very least cover the cost of visits to a nurse practitioner. The tax credit should expire only when a family physician is found. It’s not just that everyone pays comparable taxes and some do not get the same attention and care as others in a country where Medicare is supposed to be universal.

The annual quarter million dollars to service the downtown plaza would have gone a long way in keeping the natural outdoor neighborhood rinks going for years

If the de-rostered patients do not get reinstated the word “Group” needs to be removed since it’s no longer a Group health Center. The Group Health Center executive level has become too top heavy.

Kinach, in my opinion was just venting his frustrations I think we have all done that at times during our working careers. That said I think you would agree that we should not expect to be reprimanded by a co-worker. Shame on the co-councillors that voted to reprimand him!
