The downtown association has gathered information from members in years past and not just in 2024, the most important concerns resonate every year, crime prevention and safety.

So sad that the downtown can not see the forest for the trees. $6000 as an annual budget for security is disgraceful. Yet the City spent $60k for 4 months of security patrols. Zero results there too! Wonder why? Not hard to figure out! I’ve not seen one study showing the security effectiveness of vehicular patrols.

Another smokescreen that he is actually helping or doing something about this medical doctor shortage. Time to do something different than the same old thing don't you think, Romano? I am sure he has a doctor and so does everyone else in his family. This funding does nothing for the problem here in the Sault and the 10,000 people who just lost primary care, not to mention the thousands of people who already do not have a doctor. The same old horse and pony show!

In the courts, "claiming they owe more than $144 million in unpaid loans and have less than $100,000 in the bank." Yet Mayor Shoemaker states, The municipality has tried to tighten up its property standards bylaws over the past two terms of council in an effort to discourage landlords from allowing their properties to become derelict. How has the city done this? Where is the proof? There are a lot of derelict buildings in the downtown area and other parts of town. Time to change tactics. Give these slumlord landlords fines but they won't be paid under the bankruptcy umbrella. Time to change your tactics City Hall.
