Passed away suddenly at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. It is with profound grief that we have lost him. He leaves behind his wife Darlene (nee McCormack). Cherished father of Wendy Matthews (Gary), Kim Reid (Dwayne) and Steven Reid (Carrie). Forever loving Papa of Marc (Allie), Jessica, Amanda and Alycia. Proud great Papa of Kirsten and Kendyll. Predeceased by his parents Alice and Bernard Reid. Brother of Rochelle (Ron), Gwen (late Stan), Dennis (Lynne), late Monica, Terry (Sylvie), Karen (Herb) and Donna (Jim). Son-in-law of Mary and Norman Hopkins. Brother-in-law of Gary (Cookie) and Mary-Anne (Calvin). Special uncle Wayne of Lorrie, Dennis, Danny and many more. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated by the family. 70 years may not seem like a long time, but Wayne has managed to squeeze in 150 years of experience in that time. For the last 27 years, Wayne has been in the compassionate care of Dr. Pauline Bragaglia. He would have never survived that long if not for her care. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Sault Area Hospital, especially Dr. Bowen, Dr. Kargbo, Dr. Dawson, Dr. Keating, Dr. Farah and the Oncology Staff.
