Sorry about that, Jeff

Yesterday, SooToday.com's Rick McGee was telling you how Jeff Jackson, who coached Lake Superior State University’s hockey Lakers to NCAA Division I titles in 1992 and 1994, was within one game of winning another national crown last night.

Well. we're sorry to report that Jackson’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost 4-1 to Boston College Eagles at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

There are more Soo ties on the Fighting Irish though.

Brock Sheahan who plays on their defensive line is the grandson of Saultite (now living in Ottawa) Helen Johnston (nee Fesko) who married Jimmy Johnston.

Jimmy played on the Soo Greyhounds way back when with Ben Cano. (First imports from Thunder Bay).

Brock lived in Lethbridge, Alberta and was awarded a full ride scholarship with Notre Dame.

This is his last year. What a great way to go out.
