New charge laid in baseball bat assault case

************************* Last night at approximately 7 p.m., City Police arrested James Hodgkins, age 48, of 9 Ascot Avenue.

It is alleged that at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday March 7, the accused and another male person attended at a West End bar and while there they assaulted a male known to them with a baseball bat.

It is further alleged that on March 6 at approximately 10 p.m. the accused broke into a residence in the 700 block of Mackenzie Avenue and threatened the tenants.

James Hodgkins is charged with one count of threatening with a weapon, one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of break and enter with intent and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Mr. Hodgkins will be appearing in court on April 14 at 9 a.m.
