Dude's leg broken by baseball bat. Cops think Alan did it

************************* On Friday at approximately 9:15 p.m. Alan Bertrand, age 22, of 6 Linden Drive in Heyden turned himself in to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and was charged with one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, one count of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

It is alleged that at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, the accused and another male person attended at a West End bar and while there they assaulted a male known to them with a baseball bat.

Both accused fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The victim of the assault was taken to Sault Area Hospital and treated for a broken leg.

A warrant is being issued for the second suspect.

Mr. Bertrand will be appearing in court on April 7 at 9 a.m.
