SooToday.com has received the following e-mails from faithful readers Richard Bennett in the Sault and Ryan Malloy in Ottawa, who take offence to one of SooToday.com's police headlines this morning.

************************* David Helwig: I find your story headline of "Darren accused of being kinda Irish. On Chapple St" to be racist.

Being Irish myself, your negative stereotyping is not welcomed, nor should a journalist be using such a phrase.

I know it is your 'thing' to come up with eye-catching and funny headlines to catch the reader's eye.

But using racist slant on a headline is downright in poor taste... Please amend your comment. Faithful reader... you are my homepage. - Richard Bennett, SSM, Ontario

************************* Do you really think that this is an appropriate statement to be making?

I find it to be offensive!

- Ryan Malloy, Ottawa

************************* Do you agree?

Are people of the Irish persuasion victims of negative stereotyping by SooToday.com?
