Former Mayor Joe Fratesi reigns again at the top of the City's $100,000 club, according to figures released under Ontario's Public Service Salary Disclosure Act.

After falling behind Police Chief Robert Davies last year, the chief administrative officer once again ascended to the top of this year's list, earning a total of $142,793 in salary and taxable benefits in 2003.

Chief Davies slipped back to second place this year, but barely.

He earned a combined $142,150, just $643 short of Fratesi.

The City's $100,000 Club grew by three members this year.

The rookie recruits are Fire Chief Lynn McCoy and Police Inspectors John Campbell and Spencer Coutu.

Once again, the City of Sault Ste. Marie's $100,000 Club remains an all-boys institution: not a single woman has been accepted into the ranks so far.

Ontario's Public Sector Disclosure Act requires institutions that receive public money to disclose each year the names, postions, salaries and taxable benefits received by all employees who earn more than $100,000 a year.

The following list was submitted to the province by the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

Disclosures from other institutions, including Sault Area Hospital, are expected to be made available later this spring.

Here's the City of Sault Ste. Marie's full list for 2003:

Joe Fratesi Chief administrative officer $137,617 salary + $5,176 in taxable benefits
