Collision near Wawa. Driver charged with impaired

Motor vehicle collision on Hwy 101

Driver charged with impaired driving

WAWA - On June 5, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment was dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 101 near the Town of Wawa. 

Upon arrival the OPP found a Pontiac Sunfire and the driver in the south ditch. 

As a result of police investigation the driver, 44 year old Kenneth Bentley of South Porcupine, Ontario was arrested and brought to the OPP Wawa Detachment for breath tests. 

The accused has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Have care and control of a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol
• Exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content

He is scheduled to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on August 13, 2012.
