Appealing note from a local business

Jay Case and Carrie Suriano-Case took over Case's Music in June of 2010. The first thing they did was renovate and update the store and the second thing they did was stock it. Very well.

Very well.

On Saturday they got some very bad news about the store and now they are appealing to Saultites to help them recover some of their significant losses.

Dear sootoday.com, we need the help of the kind citizens of Sault Ste. Marie!

During the early morning hours of Friday March 30th, 2012, we were sad to find out that our business, Case's Music at 173 Spring Street, had been broken into.

After finding our cash drawer empty, we noticed that we were missing much more than just that...we were missing close to $13,000 worth of inventory as well.

We are a dealer of Larrivee acoustic and electric guitars, the only dealer of these instruments in northern Ontario that carries inventory.

They are quite sparse in the area and it would be very rare that someone would have one or more to sell.

These guitars are high quality instruments that are handmade in Canada and the U.S. with all solid woods...they are not inexpensive.

Many of the guitars stolen were of a limited, special run and are not replaceable, even if we had the money in reserve with which to replace them (which we don't, as a new small business it's almost laughable to even write that).

We also are missing a custom-built fender stratocaster with a natural, unfinished body and the name “Keith Conway” burned into the wood of the headstock.

We ask that if you see or hear of anyone selling a high end acoustic or electric guitar privately, please take note of the brand name and the person's identity who is peddling them.

This is likely the only way that the culprit(s) will be found.

If you do, in fact, hear something...please contact us at Case's Music at 705-256-7388 or the City of Sault Ste. Marie Police Service or Crime Stoppers and leave any information you may have.

If you'd like to stay anonymous, that is just fine; the identity of the culprit(s) is all that matters to us so that they may be brought to justice.

A million thanks in advance for any help provided!

Sincerely,

Jay Case and Carrie Suriano-Case
