Free Drop-In Community Artmaking Sessions with Thinking Rock Community Arts

Thursday, June 27, 2024 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Looking for an inspired way to spend an afternoon?

Join us Thursday, June 27 from 4 pm to 6 pm, at the Ketegaunseebee / Garden River First Nation Public Library (48 Syrette Lake Road, Ketegaunseebee / Garden River First Nation, ON), where we'll be sharing our work through hands-on intergenerational artmaking!

We'll be bringing a bunch of our current Social Fabric activities, and YOU are invited to join us in artmaking that might include:
- Embroidering a blanket transformed by messages of love;
- Making a mending list, and thinking through what mending means to you;
- Adding colour to our evolving Gathering Quilt and custom colouring fabric;
- Working on a UFO (unfinished object) collaborative project;
- And other activities, as the project unfolds!

We'll also be sharing information about our community-engaged work and how to get involved!

No experience is needed and everyone is welcome to join this free drop-in session! For more information please email us ([email protected]) or call (705) 542-1100.

Miigwetch to Irene Gray and our partners at the Ketegaunseebee Public Library for hosting us!

Thinking Rock acknowledges our funders and supporters - including Niigaaniin Services and Mamaweswen/The North Shore Tribal Council, The Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, the City of Sault Ste.
