Suspect arrested in White Pines bomb threat investigation

On Sept. 28, 2017 officers with the Investigation Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male in relation to a threat and mischief.

It is alleged that on Sept. 27, 2017 the accused left a note at White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School indicating that a bomb was in the school. Officers and school officials followed protocols and the school was safely evacuated. After a thorough search, no devices were located.

Police were able to identify the accused and he was taken into custody on Sept. 28. The accused has been charged with one count of mischief and one count of uttering threats. He will appear in court on Nov. 14.
