A hardworking mother of four was nominated by a coworker, who had a relatively small ask for her friend that would make a big difference. She said her friend, Chantal, would love to attend the upcoming appearance of autism activist Temple Grandin here in Sault Ste. Marie, as her daughter is autistic and it would mean the world to her to hear Temple speak. We reached out to our friends at the Algoma Autism Foundation, who jumped at the chance to help Chantal and her family. They generously provided two tickets to Temple Grandin's event, as well as Algoma Autism Foundation gifts, including shirts for the whole family. They also coordinated a gift package to make sure she felt as special as she is, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers provided by Tamar's Trends, and a $50 gift certificate to Quattro Chophouse & Bar, donated by the generous employees of the restaurant. Drug Basics at 701 Pine Street also wanted to gift Chantal and her family with a $250 gift certificate to their over-the-counter items, which Chantal was thrilled to say will be put to very good use.
