The city recently raised the question of potentially discontinuing free downtown parking and moving to a user-pay model. A survey was conducted as a part of a review of the municipal parking lots, which currently provide free two-hour parking downtown. The possible end to the free city parking was met with a heated response from the public, who fear how this change could affect the downtown.
