VIDEO: Here's why they closed the boardwalk this afternoon

Continuous rain and wind causing high water levels, and appeared to have knocked a tree down onto Queen Street East

A strong easterly wind combined with continuous rainfall has caused water levels to significantly rise in the St. Marys River forcing the closure of portions of the board walk along the city’s waterfront.

City crews responded to a tree down blocking the westbound lane of Queen St. at Pine St.
