1,800 local families are hoping for a nice Holiday with their loved ones and they're also counting on a team of Santa's helpers to make that come true.

That team of helper's assemble each December as part of the Christmas Cheer program.

This year, as the last few years the Christmas Cheer depot is set up at the former Sir James Dunn High School on Wellington Street. There you will find over 200 volunteers working long days collecting donations and putting together individual gift boxes for the more than 1,800 registered families in the Sault.

There's a lot of behind the scenes that most people don't see. The people, the businesses and supporters that make the Christmas Cheer program a huge success each year. Without the generosity of not only the volunteers but the general public, there wouldn't be a Merry Christmas for a lot of families.
