VIDEO: Pauline's Place hosts fourth annual Pallet Build-off

Contestants showcased their pallet projects during this afternoon's event

Lions and cribbage boards and ... pallets? Oh my!

These were just some of the creations showcased today as contestants displayed their talents during the 4th annual Pauline’s Place Pallet Build-off, held this afternoon.

Pauline's Place is a 19-bed shelter that provides emergency short-term housing for youth, women and families who are experiencing a housing crisis.

With the help of external support, they further assist clients to secure and maintain permanent housing.

Although Pauline's Place does receive donations, they come mostly in the form of clothes. Events like this help them raise money for much-needed medical supplies sanitary items and other day to day expenses.

While addictions and mental health are serious problems in our community and others like it, Anne Penny, executive director of the organization, firmly believes that a difference can be made in the lives of people who come to the shelter.

The winners will be announced Saturday, Aug. 14.

The pallet creations are currently being auctioned off on the Pauline's Place Facebook page.
