VIDEO: New In The Soo - Caribbean Jerk Fusion

Dishes also come with a healthy variety of fresh vegetables herbs and spices

Andre Akins has been cooking since the tender age of ten.

Learning from his father and grandfather, Andre is carrying on a legacy of restaurateurs.

Having arrived in Sault 11 months ago, Andre made the decision to open his own restaurant sharing with our community the cuisine he grew up with.

"The two biggest sellers are the jerk chicken and jerk pork" says Andre. "My favourite is the fish."

As one could expect, seafood is a staple in Caribbean cultures, and jerk fusion offers a wide variety including salmon, red snapper, as well as an array of shrimp dishes.

Dishes also come with a healthy variety of fresh vegetables herbs and spices.

Making sure people are eating healthy is a big motivator for Andre. "We prepare everything fresh each morning" says Andre. "You'll feel better after you eat this food."

The restaurant is located at 476 Queen St E.
