Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspect involved in an incident of fraud.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service has seen an increase of taxi fraud occurring throughout the city.

These incidents affect not only the taxi companies but the people that use the service by tying up the cabs and driving up cost.

On the 16th of May 2017 at around 2:45 pm a taxi company picked up two female suspects at two locations in the west end of town and dropped them off at the Scotia Bank entrance of the Station Mall.

The suspects got out of the cab without paying for a $30 fare and went into the mall.

The incident was caught on video surveillance and the video can be viewed on our YouTube page by searching “SSM and Algoma Crime Stoppers”.
