VIDEO: When should kids be allowed to use a smartphone?

A SooToday poll found very few think kids should have their own smartphone before they turn 10. We asked people on the boardwalk what they think

SooToday.com polled 4981 SooToday.com readers and asked the question: How old should a child be before they are allowed to have their own smartphone?

The poll ran from 8/14/2022 to 8/19/2022. Of the 4981 votes, we can determine that 2839 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Results are based on an online study of adult SooToday.com readers that are located in Sault Ste. Marie. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 1.34%, 19 times out of 20.
