Employment Solutions has helped countless people through some challenging times.

One of their clients named Smith lost his job and was feeling very discouraged. He had been employed at the same business for 15 years until the company was restructured and Smith found himself unemployed.

“I don’t recall how I came here (Employment Solutions) because I was so confused. I met with Rob and discussed my situation and he explained what was available to me. I couldn’t believe what services were available to help me find employment. He explained to me the career opportunities and funding that I could get,” says Smith.

Through Employment Solutions, Smith was able to take advantage of the Second Career program, which provides skills-training and financial support for the latest in-demand job opportunities. Smith went back to school, for training with Transport Canada. He received support from Employment Solutions and then earned his Heavy Equipment Operator license and AZ/DZ license.

“It helped me to fund materials needed for my training and future employment in the industry – boots, hard hat, and gloves.”

“Rob then reviewed my resume with me and gave me some tips on how to improve it. He also gave me guidance on how to review the positions available in trucking. Also gave me interview tips and help on answering questions. It was a different career path than what I had previously been trained in, so this was still new to me. Once I completed the training, I found a job within three days!”
