Superior Staff it, a locally owned business focused on senior care, prides itself on giving back to the community and the month of December was no exception.

Superior Staff it spearheaded several initiatives for the community and beyond during 2023, but December sparked the spirit of giving for this local business.

President and Founder Sheri-Ann Morin stated, “Giving back is a passion of mine, I am in a position where I am able to give. I love spearheading new initiatives for our community, seniors, and the vulnerable population, hopefully making a strong, lasting impact.”

The month of giving back was kicked off with Sheri-Ann organizing and facilitating a group of women who compiled 200 Blessing Bags which consisted of items such as socks, lip chap, a cup, a package of soup mix, a toothbrush, and more. These bags are intended for those who require essential items. Uplifting and encouraging messages were also included within the Blessing Bags to lift spirits and the bags were delivered to the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre, Pheonix Rising Women’s Centre, St. Vincent Place, and Sault Ste. Marie’s Community Resource Centre to be provided to those who could benefit from them.

A Food Drive followed the Blessing Bags in which Superior Staff it called on the assistance of the community to donate non-perishable foods.  Superior Staff it matched each donation and the week before Christmas all donations were delivered to the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre.

Superior Staff it also launched its annual Adopt-A-Senior initiative in December, once again calling on the assistance of the community to adopt a senior from long-term care for Christmas by purchasing them a Christmas gift from their wish list. Thirty-two gifts were donated for seniors living in long-term care who may not otherwise receive anything on Christmas morning sparking joy that may not otherwise occur for these individuals.

Giving back to the long-term care homes didn’t stop there. Superior Staff it was also happy to donate Reborn Dolls to each of the long-term care homes in Sault Ste. Marie. These life-like dolls are used for Doll Therapy for Seniors living with dementia and other conditions to improve their comfort, engagement, and quality of life. The benefits of doll therapy include decreased anxiety and agitation, enhanced moods, an increase in social interactions, improved communication, and triggering memories. A donation that proves Superior Staff it’s dedication to senior care.

Additionally, donations were made to the Salvation Army and St Vincent Place on behalf of the nearly 100 field staff employed by Superior Staff it, while Sheri-Ann and the operations team each donated a shoebox filled with gifts for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child initiative.

Superior Staff it is driven by a passion for supporting their community by leading initiatives through programs, volunteering, and giving back, and 2024 will not be any different.
