After two years of living through a pandemic, people have become more acutely aware of the safety of their own environments.

That’s especially true when it comes to the air quality inside their homes. It’s never been more important to ensure that HVAC systems – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning – are performing at optimum levels to ensure clean air is circulating throughout the home.

With the changes in seasons residential HVAC systems go from heating homes to cooling them.

After sitting all winter, there’s always a chance the A/C unit isn’t working, which is a good time to call Steel City Gas. “We go and take a look for no charge to see what’s happening or why it’s not working,” said Tammy Pistor, Office Manager for Steel City Gas. “If it’s something that can be fixed, we’ll fix it. If not we can provide quotes to either purchase or rent a new A/C unit. With both options quoted, the homeowner can then better determine which option they’d like to go with.”

Owned and operated by Don Davidson and family, Steel City Gas has in recent years become the Sault’s official authorized dealer for Enercare, a Canadian company offering solutions and services for heating, cooling and hot water systems. Through that affiliation, Steel City Gas has been able to offer exceptional options in terms of renting and buying all HVAC elements.

Steel City Gas and Enercare also provide options for homes that do not have gas lines to the house and/or do not have ductwork throughout.

If a homeowner wants gas, and has agreed upon a gas unit purchase or rental, Pistor works with the homeowner and applies for their gas line installation. Details of this process are explained so that the homeowner can make an informed decision. Pistor says renting can be an attractive option for residential property owners.

“There are many advantages to renting A/C units or hot water heaters, you don’t have to pay the big lump sum at the beginning. With the monthly rental fee, anything that could go wrong including parts and service is covered. You don’t have the worry of putting out money to fix it or go without.”

When renting with Enercare, Pistor said there is no contract term, which means a homeowner can decide to buy any furnace, air conditioning unit, or hot water heater outright should they want to end their rental contract. All air conditioning rental installations are available with no down payment, no installation charges, no maintenance or repair costs and come with extended warranties.

As an added bonus, Pistor said Enercare is currently offering a variety of great incentives. “If a customer signs up with us for a rental they get the first three months rental free along with a prepaid credit card. They can get up to $500 depending on the service they’re getting”.

Pistor noted that “if a homeowner has a current rental unit with a rental competitor, they can switch to Enercare, no problem”. Depending on which competitor company the rental is with, Steel City Gas has authority to contact the company on behalf of the homeowner. If an agreement is made to switch, she will close the current account and have the equipment returned to the company’s warehouse. “Customers like this very much as they can just relax and let us do all the work, happily”.

“Our technicians are experienced, respectful and friendly. Whether it’s a purchase or a rental installation, they provide efficient service with a nice clean up when they are done”.

Pistor said summer bookings for A/C maintenance and installations are heating up, so interested parties should book as soon as they can. For full details visit them online.
