Tickets on sale for Moloney’s Michigan Beerfest

There are just 10 days left to take advantage of pre-sale pricing for Moloney’s Michigan Beerfest Aug. 11 in Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

Pre-sale tickets are $25 and include five drink tickets. Beginning July 1, ticket pricing will be $30 and will include four drink tickets. Additional drink tickets will be available the day of the event.

Each year a portion of the event’s proceeds are donated towards a charity or philanthropic effort. This year Chippewa County Family Project will be the recipient of proceeds. Chippewa County Family Project is an effort to provide a home- like place for teens that are placed in foster care.

Moloney’s Michigan Beerfest will welcome 20 Michigan breweries and feature live entertainment and a cornhole tournament. In celebration of Sault Ste. Marie’s 350th Anniversary, select breweries will compete in an Anniversary Ale Competition for a chance for their brewerie’s beer to be named the 350th Anniversary Brew. The competition will be judged by local “soolebrities.”

Last year Moloney’s Michigan Beerfest began to fall under Michigan Main Street efforts with the Downtown Development Authority being primarily responsible for the event’s planning, with DDA staff and a volunteer driven committee working closely alongside Abby Baker of Moloney’s Alley; the events presenting sponsor.

Baker’s idea was to bring an intimate beerfest to Sault Ste. Marie. Her efforts have grown the event substantially over the last five years with the rise in popularity of the craft beer industry.
