(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On September 17, 2005 police attended a local hospital in regards to a possible assault.

Investigation revealed that groups of youth were hanging out when a male youth allegedly bumped and pushed the victim. Words were exchanged and both youth left the area. Later in the evening the suspect encountered the victim and more arguing took place with the suspect allegedly assaulting the victim. The victim sustained a broken jaw that will require surgery.

Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm is a 15-year-old male youth of Elliot Lake. The youth cannot be named under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 15 year old is scheduled to appear in court on November 15th, 2005.

Heyden Break And Enter

Heyden, Ont.,Sault Ste Marie OPP is investigating a break and enter into a cottage on Maki Lake in Heyden.

Criminals forced their way into a camp on Maki Lake and stole small electronic equipment, a quantity of money and alcohol. This is the third break and enter on Maki Lake within the past month.

Residents of the Maki Lake Road and Trout Lake Road area, in Heyden, are being asked to report any unusual activities or strangers they see in their area to the police or Crime Stoppers. Your call may just prevent your home or cottage from being the next target of thieves.
