THREE CHARGED IN WEEKEND BEATING OF HEYDEN MAN (Heyden, Ont.) The Ontario Provincial Police has arrested and charged an 18-year-old man and two young persons in connection with the beating of a Heyden man on the weekend.
THREE CHARGED IN WEEKEND BEATING OF HEYDEN MAN

The Ontario Provincial Police has arrested and charged an 18-year-old man and two young persons in connection with the beating of a Heyden man on the weekend. Members of investigative team made the arrests late last night and into this morning.

On Sunday, Oct. 5 at about 11:30 a.m., Henry Johnston, 35, was found lying in a bush area between his home and his neighbour’s house in Heyden. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Sudbury.

Charged with one count of aggravated assault with a weapon endangering life is Dustin Rodrique GAGNE, 18, of Heyden. Two young persons are also charged with Aggravated Assault with a Weapon Endangering Life. All of the accused are from this area and appeared in court this afternoon.

The investigation by members of the Sault St. Marie OPP Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Scott Tod of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing.

The OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance in this case.


EARLY MORNING COLLISION SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL
Laird Twp, Ont.,

One man was admitted to hospital and a second one treated for his injuries after a motorcycle collision this morning.

This morning at about 5:30 a.m. two men on a motorcycle were entering Hwy 17 from Lake George Road in Laird Twp just east of Echo Bay. The driver was accelerating up to highway speeds when the motorcycle lost control. The bike rolled over several times sending the two occupants flying through the air.

The passenger, 33 year old Peter Ambeault of Laird Twp has been admitted to Sault and Area Hospital with broken bones. The driver of the bike, 28 year old David Milton of Desbrats, was treated for minor injuries. No charges will be laid in this investigation
