PSSST---WANT SOME WOOD ??

(Goulais River, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP are looking for the thieves that stole an entire load of logs from a logging operation.

Some time since the weekend and yesterday thieves went into the logging operation just off Goulais Mission Road and stole about seventy five logs from the operation. The company that is conducting the operation believes that the thieves had to have a self loading logging truck.

They estimate the value of the logs at about $3000.00. If anyone living on Goulais Mission Road or Hwy 552 West remembers seeing the load leaving the area, please call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.

REMEMBER—IT’S A NEW HIGHWAY NOT A NEW RACEWAY

(Garden River First Nation, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP would like remind everyone that the new section of Hwy 17 around Echo Bay and Garden River is scheduled to open this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment and the OPP Traffic and Marine Unit will also be using the new section of highway –WITH OUR RADAR UNITS !!

We would like to remind everyone of the new “stunt” legislation in Ontario that allows police to seize vehicles and drivers licences of anyone found driving fifty kilometers per hour or over the speed limit.

The speed limit on the new section is 90 km/h.
