Drowning Victim Name Released The victim of yesterdays drowning accident in St. Mary’s River was been identified as 68-year old Victor Ostroski of Kohler Street. A post-mortem will be conducted later this morning.

Patient Charged with Assault

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 8th, 2005 at 12:21 p.m. police attended the local hospital in regards to a complaint of a patient assaulting a staff member.

Investigation revealed that the patient had been disruptive, yelling, demanding and argumentative with other patients and staff. Due to the behavior of the patient, hospital staff decided to move the patient to another room. During the move the patient continue to be disruptive and picked up the extension cord attached to an I.V. Pole and swung it at the nurse hitting her on the shoulder.

Charged with Assault is Beverly GREATHOUSE (36) of Elliot Lake. GREATHOUSE is scheduled to appear in court on December 6th, 2005.

Tires Shot Out at Ranger Lake

Ranger Lake, Ont., A Sault Ste Marie man had to walk 14 kilometers out of the bush yesterday after three out of four tires on his truck were shot out.

The man was at a remote hunting camp in the Laughing Lake area, just north west of Ranger Lake. Over the weekend the victim parked his truck at a landing and went into his camp for several days. Yesterday, just before noon, he arrived back at his truck to find that someone had shot out three tires on his truck.

The man had to walk about 14 kilometers out of the bush on Laughing Lake Road to Ranger Lake Road for help. On his way out he checked on another vehicle that was parked just off of Laughing Lake Road to find that this vehicle also had shots fired into it. The windshield and other areas of the second vehicle were shot out.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
