POLICE CONTINUE SEARCH FOR TWO FUGITIVES

(Temagami, Ontario) Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police continue their search for a 22-year-old male and a 17-year-old female after they evaded police by jumping into a 16-foot boat and entered into the Matebechewan River in South Lorraine Township on the 29 May 2006 at approximately 11:00 p.m.

OPP officers from the Temiskaming Detachment attended a cottage on the Matebechewan River in South Lorraine Township on the 29 May 2006 at approximately 10:50 p.m. reference an unwanted guest. Further investigation by the police uncovered arrest warrants for Clinton HAGGART 22 of Capreol, and a 17-year-old female of no fixed address who is traveling with HAGGART.

HAGGART and the 17-year-old female eluded police by getting into a boat and proceeded into the Matebechewan River which leads into Lake Temiskaming. A search of the area by boat and land has been conducted by police and Ministry of Natural Resources with negative results.
