TWO INJURIES WHEN HYRO POLE STRUCK
Echo Bay, Ont.,

Two women were sent to Sault and Area Hospitals yesterday when the car they were driving struck a hydro pole.

At about 6:30 p.m., a car was westbound on Hwy 17 in the town of Echo Bay. The driver was momentarily distracted and she failed to negotiate a curve on the highway.

The car hit the snow bank, became airborne, struck a hydro pole and rolled over several times. Both occupants of the car were admitted to Sault and Area Hospital with major but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car, nineteen year old Tiffinay Ryan of Colorado, USA. will not be charged.

Great Lakes Power had to be called to Echo Bay to restore power to the area and repair the pole.
