CHILD ABUSE CHARGES LAID
Echo Bay, Ont.,
Sault Ste. Marie OPP have charged an Echo Bay man with two sex related charges against a pre-school child.
An investigation into this matter has been ongoing for the last two days. As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 60-year-old Echo Bay resident with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference. The suspect will appear in Bail Court this afternoon in Sault Ste Marie.
The name of the accused will not be released by police to protect the identity of the child.
CLOSE CALL IN GOULAIS RIVER COLLISION
Goulais River, Ont,
A single vehicle collision on Hwy 17 north at the Goulais River Bridge was a close call for one Goulais River driver.
The man was travelling north bound on Hwy 17 in Goulais River pulling a trailer. As the man was nearing the Goulais River Bridge the trailer started to fish tail. The man lost control of his vehicle and rolled over in the ditch just 50 meters short of the river.
No one was injured in the collision and no charges were laid.
