ASSAULT ON WOMAN AND CHILD Heyden, Ont., Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. has issued a warrant for the arrest of a twenty-four-year-old Heyden man after a woman was kicked unconscious and her five-year-old son assaulted by the same man.

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. has issued a warrant for the arrest of a twenty-four-year-old Heyden man after a woman was kicked unconscious and her five-year-old son assaulted by the same man.

Last Saturday, March 20, members of the Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. started an investigation when a woman was treated at Sault and Area Hospital for apparent broken facial bones.

The investigation has indicated that on the accused may have gone to a home in Heyden and started to assault the woman. At one point he allegedly threw her to the floor and kicked her in the head. At this point the victim lost consciousness.

The investigation has also indicated that the victim’s five-year-old son witnessed the attack. When he tried to come to his mom’s rescue, the child was also assault. It is alleged that the child was also kicked in the head by the accused. The child suffered facial lacerations and bruising. He did not require hospitalization. The accused fled the scene prior to police arrival and has not been seen in the area since the assault.

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. now hold a warrant for the arrest of twenty-four-year-old Thomas Frank Pine of Heyden. He is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault and Breach of Probation. The Sault Ste. Marie City Police also hold warrants for the arrest of Mr. Pine.

HARMONY BREAK AND ENTER
Harmony Beach, Ont.,

The Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. is investigating a break and enter into a home on Hwy 17 in the Harmony Beach area.

Yesterday afternoon the owner of the home arrived to discover that thieves broke a window and entered the house. The owner advised that a quantity of electronic equipment has been removed from the house.
