ECHO BAY FIRE
(Echo Bay, Ont)

Yesterday members of he Sault O.P.P. and the Echo Bay Fire Service responded to a fire at the Echo Bay Milling Co. located on Highway 638, MacDonald Twp. At 5:30 p.m. found the building engulfed in flames. The business owner and an employee were working outside when they noticed smoke coming from the roof. The building was totally destroyed. The damage estimate is $500,000. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall’s Office.


FIRE VICTIM IDENTIFIED
(Blind River, Ont.)

East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police have received confirmation on the identity of the victim in last December’s Fatal Fire.

The victim has been identified through the use of DNA sampling as 55-year-old Francis Xavier Talbot. The exact cause of the fire was not determined.
Talbot resided at the building that was destroyed by the fire.
