Another Moose Collision

Batchawana, Ont.,

OPP from the Sault Ste Marie detachment were sent to another moose collision on Hwy 17 early this morning.

At about 4:30 a.m. this morning a tractor trailer was southbound on Hwy 17 in the Batchawana area just north of Whiskey Bay Road. The truck struck a moose and the moose was killed instantly. The transport had moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. No one was injured in the collision.

Just another reminder that every minute of everyday somewhere in Canada there is a collision involving some type of animal. Always be 100% focused on your driving. Don’t be distracted by changing the radio station, the CD, changing the kids DVD in the back of the van or a cell phone. You are in control of a 2000 lb hunk of metal going down the highway. Watch out for anything and everything. Drive like your life depends on it.
