WHO IS LURKING IN THE BUSH ???

A local Heyden man who put his canoe on shore and went home for lunch came back to find it stolen.

Yesterday at about 2:30 p.m. Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Heyden Lake in Heyden after the man’s canoe disappeared off the shoreline. The man was out for a canoe ride yesterday when he pulled his canoe up onto the shore to go home for a bite to eat. He purposely pulled the canoe deeper into the bush so no one would see the boat.

He returned a short time later to find the canoe gone. This is the third small vessel to “disappear” off of Heyden Lake this year. Last month a canoe and small aluminum boat were taken off the property of another Heyden Lake resident. This particular body of water is not a popular destination for anyone who does not live on that lake. None of the three vessels have been located. If you know who is “lurking” in the bush line and shorelines of Heyden Lake please call Crime Stoppers or the OPP with your information.
